Don't worry, I haven't gone anywhere ;)

Yes, it's true I haven't blogged in over a year.  I'm a terrible, terrible blogger.

The facebook page is so much easier to post pictures and updates to, so that's where you'll find the latest about my sugary endeavors.  Be sure to like my page if you'd like to see what I've been up to: https://www.facebook.com/sugarboosweets

I'll keep this blog up just because I like linking my price/flavor sheet here.

Stay sweet y'all! :)

New Year, New prices

I HATE doing this, really I do.  My price list has been updated to reflect the crazy rising prices at the grocery store.  Please remember that I'm a stay-at-home mom to 3 little ones and baking yummy treats for customers is a hobby of mine.  I don't get bulk discounts like normal bakeries and supermarkets do and this hobby of mine is quite expensive.  However, I think you'll find my prices are still rather affordable compared to fancy bakeries.

Happy New Year to all my wonderful customers!  I'll be updating the blog soon ;)

Cake for Bridal Shower

After taking a short hiatus, I'm slowly easing back into doing cakes again.  My family moved to a new home and in the middle of that, we found out that we're expecting our third baby; so a break was needed!  So, I am back but I will be cutting back on the amount of orders I take.

This bridal shower cake was a double-layer, 10" round white almond cake with buttercream icing.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Cake + Cupcakes

The cake was a single-layer, large half-sheet vanilla cake with buttercream and lots of fondant accents.  Cupcakes were decorated to look like Mickey Mouse with chocolate buttercream icing and fondant mouse ears.

Cat and the Hat Birthday Cake

This cake was decorated to match the birthday girl's party dress.  The bottom cake was a double-layer, 10" round strawberry cake and the top cake was a double-layer, 6" round chocolate cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents.   Yes, the "2" was supposed to be crooked.  :)

Baseball cake + cookies

This was a single-layer, large half-sheet marble cake with buttercream icing.  Matching baseball sugar cookies for the goodie bags.

Elmo Birthday Cake for Katelyn

This was a fun one!  Katelyn's 2nd birthday was Elmo themed, who she loves very much.  Her party was awww.maaaaazz.ing.  You can check it out here.
The bottom tier of the cake was a double-layer 8" round and the top tier was a double-layer 6" round, both were classic white with buttercream icing and a gumpaste Elmo sat on top.

Also, there were Elmo decorated sugar cookies, that turned out way cuter than I ever expected.

Here's a better pic with a professional photographer (makes me really want to get a fancy camera and learn how to take nice pictures of my cakes).

Grooms Cake for Da' Poet

This cake was a surprise wedding gift to a groom who happens to be a rapper named "Da' Poet".  The artwork is his record company's logo.  It was a single-layer, half-sheet chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing and a few fondant accents.

Happy Birthday Caden - Cars Cake

This was a single-layer half-sheet cake, half classic white and half chocolate with buttercream icing and fondant accents.

Girly Birthday Cupcakes

I made these chocolate cupcakes for a good friend of mine who was celebrating a special little girl's 1st birthday.  Her nickname is "Little Miss" so I wrote "Lil Miss" on one of the cupcakes.

Texas Longhorns Birthday Cake

A few weeks back I did a Texas Tech football cake, but secretly I've been dying to do a Texas Longhorn cake (my husband and I are both Texas Exes.  Along with my brother, one of my uncles and a couple of distant cousins).  So when Pam asked me to do this cake for her husband, I squealed with joy!

It was a simple double-layered 10" round chocolate cake with buttercream icing.   Simple but so so so awesome- one of my favorites to date!!   Hook 'em \m/

Happy 1st Birthday Audric

I have to start off this entry by saying how happy I was to do Audi's first birthday cake.  He is a very special little blessing to one of the sweetest moms I've ever met.

Audi's birthday cakes were decorated to match his invitation.  The bottom tier was a double-layer 10" round yellow cake and the top tier was a double-layer 8" round chocolate cake, both with buttercream icing.  His personal smash cake was a carrot cake with buttercream icing.

I also decorated some sugar cookies as party favors for Audi's guests.  Thanks again Andria; you are one amazing momma!

Happy Birthday Jenna - Ladybug cake

This was a 6" and 5" round stacked cake.  The 5" round was a double-layer classic white cake and the 6" round was a double-layer chocolate cake.  Both iced in buttercream with fondant accents.

Happy Birthday Nathan

This was a double-layer 10" round yellow cake with buttercream icing.

Texas Tech football cake

This was double-layer 10" square white cake with buttercream icing.  The goalposts were fondant.

Happy Birthday Kamden

This was a single-layer 1/2 sheet vanilla cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents.

Angry Birds cake

I can't remember but I think this was a double-layer 8" round chocolate chocolate chip cake with buttercream icing.  The Angry Birds are cakeballs decorated like each type of Angry Bird. The nest and the sling shot are chocolate fondant.

80th Birthday Cake

This was a single-layer 3/4 sheet cake in classic white with pineapple filling and buttercream icing.

Happy Birthday Carson

This was such a fun little cake.  It was a double-layer 10" round vanilla cake with buttercream icing and lots of fondant accents.  Thomas was made entirely of fondant.  Cupcakes were chocolate.
